Oscar-winning “Amour” helmer to get Zurich Fest lifetime honor August 29, 2013 - 14:36 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Zurich International Film Festival will this year honor Oscar-winning director Michael Haneke with its A Tribute to… honor, the festival’s lifetime achievement award, The Hollywood Reporter said. Haneke, who won the best foreign language Oscar this year for Amour, a drama about love and dying, will attend Zurich to receive the award. Zurich will also screen a retrospective of Haneke’s work, including Amour, the Oscar-nominated and Palme d’Or-winning The White Ribbon, Funny Games, The Piano Teacher and Cache, in a retrospective titled "World Of Haneke." The Austrian filmmaker was born in Germany and raised outside of Vienna, Austria. The 9th annual Zurich Film Festival opens Sept. 26 with Ron Howard's Formula One racing drama Rush. Other gala premieres include Gravity from Alfonso Cuaron, Devil's Knot from Atom Egoyan and Robert Redford-starrer All is Lost from director J.C. Chandor.
