“Blue Caprice” helmer to remake Korean drama “Failan”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Alexandre Moors will follow his Spirit Award-nominated debut feature Blue Caprice with a remake of the 2001 Korean drama Failan, about a young woman who enters into an arranged marriage with a gangster she’s never met and connects with him via a series of letters, Deadline said.

In the English-language adaptation scripted by Jose Rivera (Motorcycle Diaries), the setting is updated to America where the young woman is now a Russian immigrant caught up in human trafficking operation run by mobsters in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn.

The Landscape Entertainment and Beacon Pictures production will be produced by Landscape’s Bob Cooper and Tyler Mitchell with Beacon’s Armyan Bernstein and Suzann Ellis. Moors also earned a Gothams nod for Breakthrough Director for Blue Caprice.
