Netherlands' oldest man, ethnic Armenian, celebrates 108th birthdayJuly 1, 2014 - 14:18 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Netherlands' oldest man, Serop Mirzoyan, celebrates his 108th birthday on Tuesday, July 1, at the home in Amersfoort he shares with his daughter, DutchNews.nl reports. Mirzoyan is Armenian and was born in 1906 in Turkey. He worked in Iraq as a farmer and moved to the Netherlands in 1996. Because he only knew his birth year, he was given the birthday of July 1. His fragile health means the birthday celebrations will be kept small, but Amersfoort mayor Lucas Bolsius will be there. The oldest Dutch woman is Egbertje Leutscher-De Vries from Havelte in Drenthe. She is 111. Photo: ANP Related links: Top stories Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees. Friday night 8 trees were torched along the beautiful main entrance.
