Armenia Registered Notable Progress in Implementing IPAP

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today Armenian President Robert Kocharian met with Special Representative of the NATO Secretary General for the South Caucasus Robert Simmons, reports the Press Service of the Armenian leader. During the meeting the parties discussed matters of Armenia-NATO cooperation. Appreciating the implementation process of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP), Simmons noted that notable progress was registered shortly in implementation of the Plan provisions. Within that context the importance of corresponding reforms in the defense field of Armenia and strengthening democracy was underscored. Considering relations with the NATO within the European integration policy, Mr. Kocharian remarked that to attain more coordinated work with various European structures an inter-departmental commission was formed the other day. The commission will periodically report to the President. «Our goal is not to be behind the scheduled work and advance much faster,» Kocharian underscored. At the instance of the guest the Armenian President outlined the latest developments in the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
