OSCE Mission monitors NKR-Azeri contact lineNovember 5, 2014 - 14:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - In accordance with the agreement reached with the authorities of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, the OSCE Mission conducted planned monitoring of the line of contact between the NKR and Azerbaijani armed forces in the east direction of the Seisulan settlement of the NKR Martakert area. From the positions of the NKR Defense Army, the monitoring was held by Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Yevgeny Sharov (Ukraine) and Khristo Khristov (Bulgaria). From the opposite side, the monitoring was conducted by Field Assistant of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Jiri Aberle (Czech Republic) and Personal Assistant to the PR of the CiO Simon Tiller (UK). Although the monitoring passed in accordance with the agreed schedule and no violation of the ceasefire was registered, the Azeri side did not lead the OSCE mission to its front-lines. From the Karabakh side, the monitoring mission was accompanied by representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense. 300 ceasefire violations by Azeri side were reported at the line of contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces from Oct 26-Nov 1. Azerbaijan fired over 2500 shots from various caliber weapons towards the positions of Karabakh defense army, which retains full control of the situation and takes retaliatory measures only in case of necessity.
