The president's Poroshenko Bloc is expected to get 132 seats, followed by People's Front of Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk with 82 seats. The Samopomich (Self-Help) party of Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy is predicted to garner 33 seats, the Opposition Bloc will be eligible to 29 parliament members, Oleh Lyashko's nationalist Radical Party will appoint 22 members of parliament, while Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) party of Ukraine's former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko will get 19 seats. At least six seats will be given to nationalist Svoboda party and one seat to Strong Ukraine, Zastup and Right Sector each, while independents will get 96 seats. Ukraine held a snap parliamentary election on October 26. Ukrainians went to the polls to vote for 423 members of the Verkhovna Rada — 225 of them from party lists and 198 in single-candidate constituencies. Following the polls, Poroshenko and Yatsenyuk entered talks to form a "powerful democratic coalition" of pro-European parties, a move applauded by the West.
