Congressman Schiff: Armenia should boost ties with both U.S. and Russia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Expansion of the U.S. economic and military assistance to Armenia is in the interests of both countries, U.S. Congressman Adam Schiff told the Voice of America.

As he noted, recently, Armenia fell under Russia’s infulence, which cannot be considered a positive development. “It is in the interests of Armenia to develop close ties both with the U.S and Russia. Struggle agaisnt corruption, developemnt of economy and boosting employment should be among Yerevan’s key priorities,” the congressman stressed.

Sciff expressed a wish for Armenia to become the Silicon Valley of the Caucasus, since the intellectual potential is not subject to a blockade. “The hi-tech sector is a very prospective one for Armenia,” Schiff said, according to local media.
