Skype Translator becomes available for everyoneMay 13, 2015 - 10:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Skype is welcoming all its users to say Hola, Ciao and Nǐ hǎo for the first time, without ever having to learn a word of a new language, Digital Spy reports. After several months of limited testing, Skype Translator is now available in preview mode for everyone to use on Windows 8.1 or the Windows 10 preview on PC and tablet. The feature analyses users words to provide real-time translation during Skype chats. At the moment it can only translate Spanish, Italian and Mandarin Chinese by voice - and as it's in preview mode, you can expect a few hiccups to begin with. Text can also be translated through the app's messaging function and works with 50 different languages. More languages are expected to follow, as Microsoft aims "to translate as many languages as possible on relevant platforms". What's more, Skype Translate is asking users to help improve translations by highlighting any errors. Microsoft is yet to mention whether Skype Translate for Windows 7 is in the pipeline and when it hopes to exit the preview phase.
