Rare pics from Marilyn Monroe's final shoot to be auctioned in London

PanARMENIAN.Net - A series of never-before-seen pictures from legendary actress and singer Marilyn Monroe's final shoot are going to be auctioned in London. The eight snaps were taken just three weeks before she passed away at the age of 36 in her Los Angeles home, AceShowbiz reports.

The images were snapped by Monroe's photographer friend George Barris on Santa Monica beach on July 13, 1962. Barris, who met Monroe as she worked on her hit film "The Seven Year Itch", originally planned to use the pictures for a book about the renowned actress he was working on, titled "Her Life In Her Own Words: Marilyn Monroe's Revealing Last Words and Photographs". The book was finally published in 2001.

Barris initially refused to allow the images to be released years after her passing, but finally he agreed to publish them in limited edition prints in 1987. The snaps include two pictures of Monroe wrapping her body with a towel and another of her wearing bikini while lying on her stomach on the beach. There are also photos of the actress in her Brentwood home in California.

According to Metro.co.uk, the eight pictures are set to be sold at Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auctions in London on June 4. They are expected to sell for more than $12,000.
