Parrot makes a splash with Hydrofoil Minidrones (video) July 3, 2015 - 15:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Drone maker Parrot has already conquered the skies, and now it's turning its attention to water with the launch of its Hydrofoil Minidrones, Digital Spy reports. The gizmos consist of two parts - a detachable aerial Minidrone and an unpowered watercraft. When the drone component is attached to the hydrofoil body via a hinged mount, the device becomes a miniature fan boat. Parrot claims that the craft is capable of reaching top speeds of 6mph in the water, recording 640 x 480 VGA video with its built-in camera as it chugs along. Powered by a 550-mAh lithium-polymer battery, the drone is controlled via Parrot's companion app for iOS and Android devices. The Hydrofoil is one of 13 new drones announced by Parrot for its second-generation lineup. Full details about its new range can be found on the firm's website.
