Bryza: In Baku I Heard Words I Have Never Said

PanARMENIAN.Net - The GUAM member states do not serve on the Minsk Group and their statement in the UN cannot be a reason for changing the format of talks, OSCE MG U.S. Co-chair Matthew Bryza said at a press conference in Yerevan. "In Baku I was watching a program on Leader TV Channel and I heard words, which were ascribed to me but which I have never said. I did not say that GUAM's initiative in the UN can have a positive impact on the Nagorno Karabakh settlement. I just said that the OSCE is ready to hear out any proposal that can help to resolve the Karabakh conflict. But GUAM's initiative is not a such, since it doesn't base on our principles," Bryza said. Yuri Merzlyakov and Bernard Fassier fully supported their American counterpart. According to Merzlyakov, a one vote odd in the UN means that the proposal was not accepted actually.
