iPhone 6S “may replace kitchen scales” (video) October 27, 2015 - 11:34 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Smartphones have already made dozens of everyday items obsolete - from address books to pocket calculators - and kitchen scales could be about to join that list, Digital Spy reports. Enterprising developer Simon Gladman has just demonstrated how the 3D Touch display on the iPhone 6S can be used to compare the weight of fruit. The app shown in the video above is called Plum-O-meter. It only works on jailbroken phones at present, but hints at the future potential of Apple's screen tech. This isn't the first time a smartphone display has been used in this way, with Huawei's Mate S handset coming with a similar app on board. The Mate S comes with Android's answer to 3D Touch, packing a 'Smart-pressure Sensitive Screen' that responds to different degrees of pressure. The iPhone 6S was the first Apple handset to include 3D Touch, although its predecessor had an earlier version in the form of Force Touch.
