AFI Fest adds Michael Caine, Ridley Scott to featured conversations

PanARMENIAN.Net - AFI Fest has announced a series of new programming, including featured conversations with Michael Caine and Ridley Scott, The Hollywood Reporter reveals.

Caine will be at the Los Angeles-based film festival for the screening of his film Youth, which will run in the fest's Special Screenings section. After the screening, the actor will be in conversation with director Paolo Sorrentino, where the two will talk about the role that Caine cites as one of the most memorable of his decade-spanning career.

Ridley Scott will be on hand to discuss his career as a director, which includes films like Alien, Blade Runner and Gladiator. Scott will be talking about his most recent directorial adventure, the blockbuster hit The Martian.

A special tribute to actors Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtenay will take place at the TCL Chinese Theatre, following a screening of their film 45 Years. Additionally, a conversation in the festival's Cinema Lounge will be moderated by the director of the AFI Conservatory Directing Workshop for Women, Patty West, who will be talking to Suffragette director Sarah Gavron and screenwriter Abi Morgan.

The AFI Fest will take place at various venues around Los Angeles and will run from Nov. 5 to 12.
