39.17% of voters cast ballots in constitutional referendum as of 5 pmDecember 6, 2015 - 19:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - As of 5 pm, 1 005 333 (39.17%) people have voted in the December 6 referendum on constitutional amendments in Armenia. According to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), 305 368 (36.10%) voters cast ballots in Yerevan. In Armenia’s provinces, the votes were cast as follows: Aragatsotn – 48 585 (42.12 %,) Ararat – 110 020 (50.52 %,) Armavir – 92 277 (40.20%,) Gehgarkunik – 75 493 (40.18% ,) Lori – 87 709 (36.85%,) Kotayk – 92 478 (39.26%,) Shirak – 73 370 (31.82%,) Syunik – 55 937 (51.11 %,) Vayots Dzor – 21 282 (45.14%,) Tavush – 42 804 (39.10 %.) Voting on amendments to Constitution has started today, December 6. 1997 polling stations opened across the republic at 8 am local time, set to close at 8 pm. The total number of voters is 2 550 323. 18 local and 6 international organizations are monitoring the referendum, including CIS observer mission, CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, foreign Central Election Committees, Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODHIR), representatives of foreign embassies accredited to Armenia.
