The movie's star Chloë Grace Moretz takes you behind the scenes of the Columbia Pictures project to see how Rick Yancey's Young Adult novel was brought to life, Digital Spy said. Moretz turns action hero in The 5th Wave as a survivor of a brutal alien assault on earth – although her brother's fate isn't so clear. Teaming up with a fellow teenager named Evan (Alex Roe), Cassie tries desperately to save her brother and repel hordes of alien invaders. Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire is a key figure in bringing The 5th Wave to life as an executive producer, while the project counts Akiva Goldsman (The Divergent Series: Insurgent), Susannah Grant (Erin Brockovich) and Jeff Pinkner (Fringe) among its screenwriters.
