Damaged Sector of Gas Pipeline Repaired

PanARMENIAN.Net - The damaged sector of the gas pipeline that supplies Armenia with Russian gas through the Georgian territory has been already repaired and is presently being tested, said Alexander Khetaguri, the president of the Georgian oil and gas corporation. He said the gas delivery will be resumed within shortest terms. The repair works were carried out by the Georgian gas and transport company, a branch of the Georgian oil and gas corporation, reports RIA Novosti.

The gas pipeline was damaged on December 17 night because of an avalanche in the Ananuri-Dusheti sector. Yesterday Gazprom's representative Sergey Kupriyanov said that if the repair works are dragged out Armenia may remain without gas in its reservoirs this winter.
