HTC “to enter smartwatch race with Apple Watch rival”

PanARMENIAN.Net - The time has finally come - HTC could be about to enter the smartwatch race with its own Apple Watch rival, Digital Spy reports.

The only major smartphone maker yet to jump on the wearable bangwagon, HTC has been tipped to get its first smartwatch on retailers' shelves by mid-April.

This would put the device's unveiling alongside the eagerly-awaited HTC One M10 in March - with the Taiwanese manufacturer set to skip the traditional MWC 2016 launch window.

At least that's according to serial tech tipster and reputed rumour monger Evan Blass, who made the claim on Twitter.

Although HTC last year confirmed it was working on a smartwatch, these plans were later scrapped and the company was left wearable bereft.

Now, despite an April release being tipped, it is currently unclear what form or features the HTC smartwatch will adopt.

That said, it appears all but certain that the HTC device will echo the likes of the Moto 360 and Huawei Watch in running Google's Android Wear OS.
