Both TV spots highlight an impending doom on Earth and the actions taken by the movies' heroes to prevent it, AceShowbiz said. "X-Men: Apocalypse", starring Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult and many others, is directed by Bryan Singer. The conflict begins when the titular big villain awakens after thousands of year, asking his Four Horsemen, Magneto, Storm, Psylocke and Anger (Ben Hardy), to help him initiate an epic annihilation in order to vanish humanity and take over the world. It is slated arrive in U.S. theaters on May 27. "Independence Day: Resurgence" takes place 20 years after the events in the first film, 1996's "Independence Day". Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch and Brent Spiner are among the returning stars, while Liam Hemsworth, Maika Monroe, William Fichtner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Joey King and Sela Ward join the cast in new roles.
