“Game of Thrones” actress Emilia Clarke hints at Jon Snow fate

PanARMENIAN.Net - Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke may have revealed the fate of character Jon Snow at the Film Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, NME reports.

While presenting the award for Best First Feature with US actor Nate Parker, she was asked by Parker if Snow, who's played by Londoner Kit Harrington, is still breathing. He told her to wink if he is, and she winked, shortly before the camera cut away.

On the flip side, last month Harrington told Digital Spy: "People didn't want me to die, but he's dead. So there you go, everyone has to get used to it."

Fans are still clinging onto the hope that Snow will be in the next series, tweeting in response to Clarke's wink, "of course Jon Snow isn't dead" and "She winked! So Jon Snow must be alive!"

To add fuel to the fire, last year during an interview with Extra TV, Clarke grinned as she said "I don't know" when the presenter asked her if Snow would come back. He then accused her of being a bad liar and she said, "No I'm terrible, I'm a really bad liar."

The sixth season of Game of Thrones will air in April on HBO and Sky Atlantic.

The author of the books, George RR Martin has revealed that he has missed an important deadline that would have allowed the latest novel in the popular fantasy series to be published before the new season airs.

Martin confirmed the news on the morning of January 2 via a statement on his blog. The statement reads: "Believe me, it gave me no pleasure to type those words. You're disappointed, and you're not alone. My editors and publishers are disappointed, HBO is disappointed, my agents and foreign publishers and translators are disappointed... but no one could possibly be more disappointed than me. For months now I have wanted nothing so much as to be able to say, "I have completed and delivered THE WINDS OF WINTER" on or before the last day of 2015.

"But the book's not done."

This of course raises the question of spoilers in the new TV series, a concern Martin confronts head on in his blog post.

"Will the show 'spoil' the novels?

"Maybe. Yes and no. Look, I never thought the series could possibly catch up with the books, but it has. The show moved faster than I anticipated and I moved more slowly. There were other factors too, but that was the main one. Given where we are, inevitably, there will be certain plot twists and reveals in season six of GAME OF THRONES that have not yet happened in the books. For years my readers have been ahead of the viewers. This year, for some things, the reverse will be true. How you want to handle that… hey, that's up to you."
