Iggy Pop annotates lyrics from “Post-Pop Depression” album

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iggy Pop has annotated his lyrics for new song 'Break Into Your Heart', which appears on upcoming solo album 'Post-Pop Depression', NME reveals.

“What you’re seeing is my mad scribble,” Pop tells Vulture of the process writing 'Break Into Your Heart'. “What’s less obvious is the thinking behind it.”

Josh Homme, who produced 'Post-Pop Depression', also explains some of his thinking behind working with Iggy Pop. "I think of Iggy as this beautiful grizzled piece of art, and my job was to put it back in the right frame," he says. "Sometimes, to do that, you have to push."

Speaking specifically about '', Pop adds: "These were the hardest lyrics for me on the record. For a young man like Josh, “Break Into Your Heart” has a sense of “Here I come, baby!” But I don’t feel that way. Stealing a heart — that suits where I am in my life."

Iggy Pop will headline London's Royal Albert Hall with new bandmates Josh Homme and Matt Helders in May.

The band will be playing select live dates around the globe, with Homme on record as saying they will only perform in “small, beautiful theaters where their presence might still seem disruptive.”

The first UK venue to host the band will be the Royal Albert Hall in London with the band set to play on May 13.
