President Sargsyan, Secretary Kerry discuss Karabakh settlement

PanARMENIAN.Net - President Serzh Sargsyan, who is currently in the United States to participate in the Nuclear Security Summit, met Friday, April 1 with the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in Washington.

During the meeting, the parties addressed the agenda of high-level Armenian-American relations, current international issues, crisis in the Middle East, also speaking about the situation in the South Caucasus and other challenges.

Besides, the dignitaries discussed the present stage of the Nagorno Karabakh peace process.

At the meeting with Secretary Kerry, the President stressed the importance of the U.S. in maintaining security and stability in the region, especially the U.S. involvement in the Karabakh peace process as a Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group.

According to President Sargsyan, Secretary Kerry’s participation in the trilateral meeting, which took place on the margins of the NATO Summit in Wales in 2014 is an example of the United States’ efforts towards a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
