1st look at Dylan O'Brien as CIA black ops recruit in “American Assassin”

PanARMENIAN.Net - As principal photography on "American Assassin" has begun this month in Europe, an official image from the Lionsgate and CBS action film has been released online. It offers a first look at Dylan O'Brien as a gun toting CIA black ops recruit Mitch Rapp, AceShowbiz reports.

The newly-released picture shows the 25-year-old muscled actor, who looks fully recovered after suffering serious injuries in an on-set accident while filming "The Maze Runner: The Death Cure" back in March, standing over a lifeless body. He can be seen holding a gun pointed down at the guy.

"American Assassin" centers on Mitch Rapp who is a gifted college scholar/athlete long before he begins hunting terrorists. A tragedy struck and he is recruited into the nation's most elite covert operations program. After completing training designs to teach the kind of lethal skills necessary to target the most dangerous enemies, here and abroad, he is a man reborn with a mission of retribution.

Directed by "Kill the Messenger" helmer Michael Cuesta, the upcoming action film also stars Michael Keaton, Taylor Kitsch and Sanaa Lathan. The script is provided by "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps" scribe Stephen Schiff based on Vince Flynn's best-selling novel of the same name. Lorenzo di Bonaventura ("Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit") and Nick Wechsler ("Under the Skin") are producing the film.
