1st look at Nicole Kidman on

PanARMENIAN.Net - SundanceTV has revealed the first photo of Nicole Kidman on "Top of the Lake" season 2, which is subtitled "China Girl", AceShowbiz said. In the photo, Kidman still looks good even though she wears a long messy gray wig and maroon blouse.

The actress plays an Australian mother named Julia on the series. She is the key role in Detective Griffin's quest to identify the body of an Asian woman found washed up on Bondi beach.

Kidman joins the cast which also includes Gwendoline Christie ("Game of Thrones") and Elisabeth Moss ("Mad Men"), who is reprising her role as Detective Robin Griffin. David Dencik ("Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy"), Alice Englert ("Beautiful Creatures") and Ewen Leslie ("Rake") will also star on the series.

Back in June, Kidman said, "I'm very excited to be coming home to work with darling friend Jane Champion, whose work I respect and admire. I'm also so happy to be joining the incredible Elisabeth Moss."

"Top of the Lake: China Girl" finds Detective Robin Griffin "recently returned to Sydney and trying to rebuild her life. When the body of an Asian girl washes up on Bondi Beach, there appears little hope of finding the killer, until Robin realizes that 'China Girl' didn't die alone. Robin's search to discover 'China Girl's' identity takes her into the city's criminal underbelly and closer than she could have imagined to the secrets of her own heart."

"Top of the Lake: China Girl" is set to premiere sometime in 2017 on SundanceTV and Hulu. It will air on BBC Two in the United Kingdom.
