Oscar-nommed Michelle Williams may star in Jonah Hill's

PanARMENIAN.Net - Michelle Williams has just been nominated for Oscar's Best Supporting Actress, and now she's in talks to appear in Jonah Hill's directorial debut "Mid '90s". The movie will be produced by "Fences" producer Scott Rudin, Eli Bush ("The Grand Budapest Hotel") and Ken Kao ("Knight Of Cups").

"Mid '90s" is a coming-of-age movie set in mid-1990s' Los Angeles, AceShowbiz said citing Deadline. It follows the story of a 12-year-old boy named Stevie who tries to understand the concept of fighting, the temptation of drinking, drugs and sex before becoming a teenager. The boy later finds his life lessons through some skateboarding buddies.

Should the deal be sealed, Williams will play a single mom who tries to raise her son Stevie in the difficult time. Williams is no stranger to playing mom. In critically-acclaimed "Manchester by the Sea", she portrayed a mother of three children. She also played mom in drama "Certain Women" and "Blue Valentine".

Williams has been nominated for Oscars for her performance in "Brokeback Mountain", "Blue Valentine", "My Week with Marilyn" and the latest one is "Manchester by the Sea". Her upcoming movie is "Janis", in which she will portray music icon Janis Joplin. She will also appear in "Wonderstruck" opposite Julianne Moore and Amy Hargreaves. Currently, Williams is filming "The Greatest Showman" with Hugh Jackman.

"Mid '90s" is scheduled to start shooting in June.
