FOX orders

PanARMENIAN.Net - FOX has ordered a pilot for "The Passage", based on Justin Cronin's best-selling supernatural fantasy trilogy. The potential series was first optioned as a feature film adaptation before being reshaped into a television drama, AceShowbiz said.

"The Passage" begins as a character-driven government conspiracy thriller and morphs into a post-apocalyptic saga with vampires. The series spans over a century and focuses on a young girl named Amy who must save the human race.

The adaptation hails from Liz Heldens ("Friday Night Lights"), Matt Reeves ("Felicity", "Cloverfield", "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes"), Scott Free Production and 20th Century Fox Television. Heldens, Reeves and Adam Kassan will executive produce alongside Ridley Scott and David Zucker. Meanwhile, Cronin will co-produce the project.

"The Passage" marks the fifth pilot to be picked up at FOX for the 2017-2018 television season.
