DEMOCRATIC NAGORNO KARABAKH CANNOT BE SUBORDINATED TO TOTALITARIAN AZERBAIJAN, NKR NEWLY ELECTED PRESIDENT CONSIDERS

PanARMENIAN.Net - Democratic Nagorno Karabakh cannot be subordinated to totalitarian Azerbaijan. Nagorno Karabakh Republic newly elected President Arkady Ghukasian stated it to journalists. He noted that in democratic development Karabakh had notably outstripped Azerbaijan and now it considered achievement of lasting peace and stability as its main goal. "Nagorno Karabakh has already solved the question of its independence and its joining to Azerbaijan is an unavoidable way to war," - A.Ghukasian emphasized. All points at issue should be discussed at the negotiation table in the atmosphere of trust, the NKR newly elected President stated, expressing his readiness to discuss "all the questions of mutual interest" with the Azeri leadership. In his words, just the fact that Stepanakert considers Azerbaijan's participation in future discussions of the status of Nagorno Karabakh possible, is evidence of the Karabakh party's constructive position. "It is natural that proceeding from its Constitution Azerbaijan considers Nagorno Karabakh as its autonomy, but today none of the Azeri politicians believes that Karabakh can be returned," - A.Ghukasian noted.
