Official: Azerbaijan's aggression has left 20 civilians dead, 93 wounded

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan's aggression left 20 civilians dead and 93 other wounded in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) between September 27 and October 7, Human Rights Defender Artak Beglaryan revealed on Thursday, October 8.

"Azerbaijan's actions are aimed at deepening the humanitarian disaster in Artsakh, causing 20 casualties, 93 injuries," Beglaryan said, also reporting extensive material losses.

On October 8, Azerbaijan shelled the iconic Ghazanchetsots Cathedral in the city of Shushi, leaving residents and foreign journalists injured.

Also, two civilians have been killed and two others wounded in Armenia since the beginning of hostilities.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey, launched a large-scale offensive against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27, shelling Armenian positions and civilian settlements with large caliber weapons and rocket systems. Armenia and Karabakh have introduced martial law and total mobilization. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. International and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
