Karabakh President updates Armenian lawmakers on latest battles

PanARMENIAN.Net - Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) President Arayik Harutyunyan hosted lawmakers from Armenia's ruling My Step bloc on Tuesday, October 20.

Harutyunyan briefed the MPs on the situation created as a result of Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression and noted that the expansionist ambitions of the Azerbaijani authorities must receive a political assessment.

Referring to the situation on the frontline, the president stressed that hostilities continue along the entire line of contact with the most fierce fighting continuing in Kashatagh region’s Ishkhanadzor, Kovsakan and Mijnavan communities.

Armenian parliament speaker Ararat Mirzoyan stressed that Armenia will always be standing by Artsakh as its security guarantor.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and Syrian and Libyan mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.

Donations can be made to Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, which has launched a fundraising campaign to support humanitarian efforts in Karabakh.
