Nine villages in Martakert, Askeran to go under Azerbaijan's control

PanARMENIAN.Net - The villages of Nor Maraga, Nor Aygestan, Nor Seysula, Nor Karmiravan, Nor Haykadjur, Hovtashen and Nor Jraberd in Nagorno-Karabakh's Martakert region, as well as the settlements of Ukhtasar and Armenakavan in Askeran region will be transferred to Azerbaijan, under a trilateral statement signed by Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia.

The statement provides for the return of Aghdam region to Azerbaijan by November 20. The settlements, as well as the town of Akna, are all located in Aghdam.

Measures are now being taken to transport the property of more than 2,000 residents of Martakert, 400 residents of Askeran and about 800 residents of Akna, as well as to provide them with temporary places of residence.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev have signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Karabakh (Artsakh) President Arayik Harutyunyan has said he has agreed to the deal signed by Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan.
