  Russia: POW exchange between Armenia and Azerbaijan continues December 16, 2020 - 18:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The process of exchange of prisoners of war between the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides continues, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told a briefing on Wednesday, December 16. On December 14, as many as 44 Armenian POWs were transported from Azerbaijan to Armenia, including five persons captured before the recent war in Karabakh. At the same time, Armenia sent 12 prisoners of war to Azerbaijan, including the saboteurs Shahbaz Guliyev and Dilham Askerov, who had been under arrest since July 2014 for murdering an Armenian soldier and a minor in Artsakh and wounding a woman. Another prisoner of war, a resident of the Armenian village of Nerkin Khndzoresk, Syunik province returned home on December 15. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days.
