Armenia President meeting Prime Minister on March 13

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Armen Sarkissian will meet Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Yerevan on Saturday, March 13, the president's office reported, without providing details. Sarkissian will also hold separate talks with the leaders of My Step and Bright Armenia blocs.

The announcement came after Sarkissian's office said the President's earlier invitation extended to the country's opposition and authorities for negotiations has become "unworkable at this stage".

According to official information, while opposition Bright Armenia party and the ruling My Step bloc accepted the invitation, Prosperous Armenia and the coalition of 17 opposition parties dubbed the Homeland Salvation Movement offered their agenda and conditions for the meeting.

Sarkissian, however, has promised to continue making efforts and is ready to hold separate meetings with those invited, as well as with individual lawmakers and other political forces, his team added.

Sarkissian earlier invited the country's Prime Minister, the leaders of parliamentary blocs and the Homeland Salvation Movement over to his residence, to discuss the situation and find mutually acceptable solutions to overcome the crisis.
