Azeri troops threw stones on Armenian civilian cars in Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani troops have thrown stones at civilian cars with Armenian license plates near the Nagorno-Karabakh village of Karmir Shuka, which is under the Armenian side's control, Artsakhpress reports.

According to Hunan Tadevosyan, a spokesperson for Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Ministry of Internal Affairs, the incident took place on March 25, when soldiers being transported in Azerbaijani vehicles and accompanied by Russian peacekeepers began to throw stones at the Armenian cars.

"One of the cars driving on the road was able to dodge [the stones], while the one in the back was not. The locals immediately blocked the road, and the commanders of the Russian peacekeepers and the Azeris came out and apologized," Tadevosyan said.

"The Russian commander took the driver's information and promised compensation."

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side has returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
