PanARMENIAN.Net - Goris Deputy Mayor Menua Hovsepyan said on Thursday, May 13 that Sev Lake, which is situated on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan but is predominantly a part of Armenia, is currently under the control of Azerbaijan, and that negotiations are still underway.

Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan admitted on Wednesday that the Azerbaijani military has advanced 3.5km into the southern Armenian province of Syunik.

"Yesterday's negotiations did not yield tangible results, the situation is more or less the same," Hovsepyan said, Aysor.am reports. "The 1st Army Corps is involved in negotiations, we are hopeful the matter will be resolved through diplomatic means."

According to him, a "problem" with Sev Lake has been regularly mentioned throughout the past six months. However, he said, they are ready to go to the end and defend their home, regardless of the developments.
