Known as the "Master of the duduk", Gasparyan was nominated for Grammy awards for the Best Traditional World Music Album in 2006. He collaborated with many artists, such as Sting, Peter Gabriel, Hossein Alizadeh, Erkan Ogur, Michael Brook, Brian May, Lionel Richie, Derek Sherinian, Ludovico Einaudi, Luigi Cinque, Boris Grebenshchikov, Brian Eno, David Sylvian, Hans Zimmer and Andreas Vollenweider. Gasparyan also recorded with the Kronos Quartet and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Credits for film soundtrack contributions include "The Crow" (1994), "The Siege" (1998), "Ronin" (1998), "Gladiator" (2000), "Syriana" (2005), "Blood Diamond" (2006), "Samsara" (2011).
