HRD publishes evidence of Azerbaijani troops' reinforcement in Armenia![]() October 22, 2021 - 11:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan has published evidence of the Azerbaijani military's reinforcement on Armenia's territory, following a statement from the Defense Ministry denying Tatoyan's earlier claims. Tatoyan said on October 18 that the Azerbaijani armed forces that have invaded Armenia's Gegharkunik province since mid-May, have built large shelters, accumulated a large amount of firewood, and paved the roads leading to their new positions. On Thursday, October 21, the Human Rights Defender urged defense official to remember that his office never disseminates unconfirmed or exaggerated information. He said the Defense Ministry should have supported his proposal to create a demilitarized security zone around the border communities of Armenia, given that the idea is gaining ground on the international arena. When the Defense Ministry denied the Ombudsman's October 18 report, Tatoyan said, the Azerbaijani media used it as official confirmation from Armenia that reports about the violation of the rights of the country's border residents are fake. "The Human Rights Defender has always supported the Armed Forces and will continue to do so. And the Ombudsman's October 18 statement referred exclusively to the criminal actions of Azerbaijan. It had no mention of the soldiers serving selflessly in the Armenian positions," Tatoyan added. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
