Azerbaijan transfers bodies to 3 Armenian troops killed in border clashes

PanARMENIAN.Net - Baku has transferred the bodies of three Armenian soldiers killed in Azerbaijan's latest offensive in the province of Syunik to the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh).

Although the clashes took place along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the transfer was arranged near the Karabakh town of Shushi which went under Azerbaijan's control during the 44-day war in fall 2020.

The rescue teams of the State Emergency Service of Artsakh accepted the bodies in the presence of Russian peacekeepers deployed in the region since the end of hostilities more than a year ago.

The Armenian Defense Ministry, which had earlier confirmed the death of sic troops, is expected to provide information about the three servicemen too.

In clashes launched by Azerbaijan on November 16, the Armenian side has confirmed deaths and injuries, while 13 soldiers have been captured by Azerbaijan. Two combat positions too have gone under the control of Azeri forces, 24 Armenian troops have gone missing.
