U.S. Senator says ready to facilitate release of Armenian PoWs![]() December 2, 2021 - 18:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - United States Senator Edward Markey has expressed his readiness to facilitate the release of Armenian prisoners of war still being held captive in Azerbaijan. Markey discussed the matter with Yerevan's ambassador to Washington DC Lilit Makunts during a virtual meeting on Wednesday, December 1. Makunts too stressed the need for the unconditional repatriation of Armenian PoWs from Azerbaijan. The two weighed in on the regional security environment, and in this context Makunts presented the position and assessment of the Republic of Armenia.
