Markey discussed the matter with Yerevan's ambassador to Washington DC Lilit Makunts during a virtual meeting on Wednesday, December 1. Makunts too stressed the need for the unconditional repatriation of Armenian PoWs from Azerbaijan.

The two weighed in on the regional security environment, and in this context Makunts presented the position and assessment of the Republic of Armenia.

The Ambassador also emphasized the comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship and informed about the ongoing processes in that direction.
