U.S., Turkey discuss Yerevan-Ankara rapprochement

PanARMENIAN.Net - National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Ibrahim Kalin, Spokesperson and Chief Advisor to the President of Turkey, on Monday, January 10 discussed the normalization process with Armenia, Turkish media reports reveal.

According to a statement from the White House, the two agreed on working toward de-escalation and normalization in the Caucasus.

Armenia has named lawmaker from the ruling Civil Contract party Ruben Rubinyan as special envoy to work on the normalization of ties with Turkey. Ankara, meanwhile, has appointed former ambassador to the United States Serdar Kilic for the same role.
