Armenia asks OSCE to arrange peace negotiations with Azerbaijan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan has asked the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship to arrange negotiations on signing a peace agreement with Baku, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said Monday, March 14.

"The Republic of Armenia responded to the proposals of the Republic of Azerbaijan and applied to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship to organize negotiations on the signing of peace agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan on the basis of the UN Charter, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Helsinki Final Act," the Ministry said in the statement.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov revealed on March 11 that they have sent a one-page proposal to Yerevan, which he said does not contain anything "out of the ordinary."

Yerevan said earlier that Armenia has repeatedly stated its readiness to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan and similar statements have also been made by Azerbaijan.
