Azerbaijani troops still on slope of key height in Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani troops continue to remain in positions they set up on the slope of Karaglukh, a strategic height in Nagorno-Karabakh, which Azeri forces stormed days earlier, killing three Armenian soldiers and injuring more than a dozen others.

The Karabakh authorities revealed that their Armed Forces has managed to suspend the advance of the subdivisions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and to maintain control over the main part of Karaglukh.

The Armenian side also revealed that Azerbaijan has indeed withdrawn from the nearby village of Parukh, which now under the control of the Russian peacekeeping troops.

"Works with the command staff of the Russian peacekeeping contingent to make the Azerbaijani units return to their starting positions are ongoing," the NKR InfoCenter said.

Earlier on Monday, the Armenian Foreign Minister published maps which show that Azerbaijan has not withdrawn its forces from the village of Parukh and the heights nearby.

On Sunday, March 27, Russia’s Defense Ministry said the Azerbaijani side carried out the withdrawal of its units from near the settlement of Parukh. It added that Azerbaijan’s troops had twice violated the ceasefire in Karabakh’s Askeran region, where the Defense Ministry said three troops were killed.
