PanARMENIAN.Net - The second meeting of the "3+3" cooperation platform involving the countries of the South Caucasus and their neighbors (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia - Iran. Russia, Turkey) is being prepared and will take place in the near future, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told a press conference following talks with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu on Wednesday, June 8.

"We agreed on how to continue working in the South Caucasus, on the initiative of Turkey, the 3 + 3 format was created," he said, according to TASS.

"We held the first meeting in Moscow, the Georgian colleagues could not participate, but we emphasize that we will always be welcoming them. The next meeting is being prepared, in the very near future, I hope that we will be able to announce it."

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier said that Georgia has a "negative attitude" towards the idea of creating the platform. The Turkish also said the creation of such a platform will contribute to the positive development of relations between Ankara and Yerevan.
