"No new capitulation" – Opposition marches to Foreign Ministry

PanARMENIAN.Net - The opposition Resistance movement on Thursday, June 9 marched to the Foreign Ministry, carrying banners that read "No new capitulation" and "Nikol doesn't represent us", Sputnik Armenia reports.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is currently making a three-day visit in Armenia.

Member of the movement and lawmaker Ishkhan Saghatelyan said that their goal was not to block the building, but to deliver the message, Ayor.am reports, Aysor.am reports.

"Our goal is to say that no matter how much they try to pretend there is no crisis in Armenia, there is a crisis. Any delegation arriving in Armenia should see and feel the breath of the people," Saghatelyan said.

In recent months, protesters demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan have taken to the streets to block major roads in the capital Yerevan and call on the population to commit acts of civil disobedience. Pashinian has come under fire after he and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev agreed to start drafting a bilateral peace treaty to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and set up a joint commission on demarcating the borders.
