Armenian Defense Minister briefs Pentagon official on border situation

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan on Thursday, September 8 met with Colin Kahl, U.S. Undersecretary of Defense for Policy at the Pentagon.

Yerevan's Ambassador to Washington, DC Lilit Makunts also participated in the meeting, the Armenian Defense Ministry reports.

During the meeting, the entire agenda of Armenian-American defense cooperation was discussed, agreements for deepening cooperation in peacekeeping mission, military education, military medicine and other fields were reached.

At the request of the American side, Papikyan provided details about the situation around Armenia, including on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The sides emphasized efforts aimed at achieving long-term peace and stability in the region.

International security issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
