Pashinyan: Queen’s death a loss for global community

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has sent a condolence message to UK Prime Minister Elizabeth Truss over the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

“The death of the Queen is a great pain and loss not only for the British people, the peoples of the Commonwealth of Nations, but also for the global community,” Pashinyan said in a statement on Friday, September 9.

“During her 70-year reign full of trials, Her Majesty, with her wisdom, prudence and benevolence, made an invaluable contribution to the development of the United Kingdom, as well as left an indelible mark in world history.”

Pashinyan noted that even the historical disasters were not able to break the unbreakable will of Elizabeth II.

“Her bright image has always symbolized the harmonious interweaving of a strong statesman and motherhood, femininity, and traditions. The Queen embodying almost an entire era of history will remain vivid in the memories of all of us,” he said.

“At this difficult moment, the Armenian people pray together with the British people and share their pain and grief."

Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, died on Thursday at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years. She died peacefully on Thursday afternoon at her Scottish estate, where she had spent much of the summer. The Queen came to the throne in 1952 and witnessed enormous social change.
