CSTO chief expected in Armenia next week

PanARMENIAN.Net - Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Stanislav Zas is planning to travel to Armenia next week, CSTO press secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov told reporters on Wednesday, September 14, RIA Novosti reports.

A CSTO mission, meanwhile, is expected in Armenia on Thursday. The mission will be headed by the chief of the Joint Staff Anatoly Sidorov, Zainetdinov added.

The Armenian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday morning that the situation on the border remained tense, with the Azerbaijani military continuing to shell the Armenian positions and civilian homes. Photos published online show damage to residential buildings in villages situated the closest to the border. 105 Armenian servicemen have been confirmed dead.
