Envoy: CSTO reacted to Pashinyan's rejection with understandingNovember 26, 2022 - 13:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Ambassador-at-Large Edmon Marukyan has commented on the results of the CSTO summit in Yerevan, during which Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan refused to sign a document on assistance to Armenia from the CSTO, amid the ongoing military aggression of Azerbaijan. Marukyan said in an interview with the Public Television on Friday, Nwvember 25 that Armenia "to the end has maintained the level of its demands" on the matter. According to him, the reaction of the CSTO [to Azerbaijan's aggression against Armenia], both in terms of political assessment and other aspects, in no way corresponded to the obligations of the organization. "It was repeatedly stated earlier that a clear political assessment of Azerbaijan's aggression against the Republic of Armenia, the occupation of territories should be given. Detailed work was carried out in this direction, documents were presented at each summit, etc. Until the last moment, it was not possible to obtain such a document in which the bar set by Armenia was observed, and this led to the fact that the Prime Minister refused to sign the document, returning it for revision," Marukyan explained. According to him, on the one hand, this was an unprecedented fact, on the other hand, the Armenian side spoke very openly and frankly with the partners in the CSTO, who were sympathetic to Yerevan's approaches. Top stories Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult.
