Turkish official: Armenia needs Turkey, Azerbaijan more than it needs France, U.S.

PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkish presidential spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin believes that Armenia needs Turkey and Azerbaijan more than it needs France and the United States.

Kalin attended an event at Bilkent University in Ankara on Thursday, December 8 and maintained that “when a peace treaty is signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia, there will be peace and prosperity in the region”. According to him, Armenia will benefit from it the most.

"Armenia is a small landlocked country with a population of three million. The normalization of relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey will contribute the most to the development of Armenia,” Kalin said, according to Turkish media reports.

“Contrary to what the Armenian diaspora thinks, Armenia needs Turkey and Azerbaijan more than it needs France and the United States.

Kalin said in late November on “positive progress” in the process of normalizing Armenian-Turkish relations. He said the Armenian and Turkish “technical delegations” that met in early November visited both sides of the border and even had lunch on the territory of Armenia.
