Six patients in critical condition in Karabakh amid blockade

PanARMENIAN.Net - 13 patients, including six in critical condition, are currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of Republican Medical Center of Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh).

Since December 12, the sole road connecting Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia - the Lachin Corridor - has been blocked by self-described Azerbaijani environmentalists. Karabakh residents have reported food and fuel shortages, while hospital patients don't have access to essential medicines, with only a handful allowed transfer to facilities in Armenia proper.

Surgeries have been suspended amid the situation, the Ministry of Health of Artsakh reveals.

According to health authorities, 13 children are in the neonatal and intensive care units of Arevik medical unit.
