PACE co-rapporteurs visit Armenian settlements affected by Azeri aggression

PanARMENIAN.Net - Kimmo Kiljunen (Finland, SOC) and Boriana Åberg (Sweden, EPP/CD), co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for the monitoring of obligations and commitments by Armenia, traveled to the province of Gegharkunik on Sunday, February 19.

The two are currently on a fact-finding visit to the country.

Accompanied by lawmakers Ruben Rubinyan and Vladimir Vardanyan, they met with Gegharkunik governor Karrn Sargsyan who unveiled the damages caused by the Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia on September 13-14, 2022.

Sargsyan then accompanied the fact-finding mission to the border villages of Sotk and Kutakan to observe the damage suffered and the restoration works already done.

In Yerevan, Kiljunen and Åberg were due to meet the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Minister of Defense, the Chairperson of the Armenian delegation to PACE and representatives of the diplomatic community.
