“Shocking”: Pashinyan reacts to Azeris hindering Karabakh civilians’ return homeApril 6, 2023 - 15:20 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has reacted to the incident that involved the hospitalization of four Nagorno Karabakh women who were returning home from Armenia when the Azerbaijanis blocked their convoy accompanied by Russian peacekeepers. Pashinyan described the incident as “shocking” and added that it once again underscored Azerbaijan's failure to comply with the decision of the International Court of Justice. “This documented reality demonstrates our early assessments, and they become sharper against the backdrop of the decision of the International Court of Justice of February 22, 2023, according to which Azerbaijan must take all actions to fully restore the activity of the Lachin corridor,” Pashinyan said. The Prime Minister noted that the Armenian side should continue with its international diplomatic efforts. He also recalled that the supply of gas and electricity to Nagorno-Karabakh has not been restored yet. Four civilians, all of them women, were hospitalized after self-described Azerbaijani environmentalists blocked the vehicles of Russian peacekeepers carrying 27 Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) residents from Armenia, the Karabakh Ministry of Health reported. As a result, citizens were forced to spend about 5 hours in that section of the road, and three people fainted. Except for the four women, all the others had to return to the town of Goris in Armenia where they have been stranded for over 115 days now.
